(Tired Apollo is tired.)
[ stumbles in, fresh out of bed and not yet styled or out of pyjamas, a toothbrush in his mouth ]

Whu--? [ looks around, rubbing his eyes free of sleep ] This isn't my bathroom... [ takes the toothbrush out of his mouth and looks around, barely registering the people until he sees all the duplicates. ]

GAK!

[ stares, suddenly very self-conscious of a mark under his chin ]

Not more mes... please... I can't take this... [ groans ]

Is there any particular reason that you suddenly feel the need to fill the floor with ornaments? Is this some kind of paranormal... thing that you generally indulge in while in other people's houses?
Phoenix Wright: O rly psychiatrist modei_think_wright on February 3rd, 2008 10:26 pm (UTC)
...I'm not sure about his world, but from where I'm from, "paranormal" doesn't me "inexplicably crazy".

There's usually an explanation for the crazy.
Miles Edgeworth, Professeur de Loiprofesseurdeloi on February 3rd, 2008 11:02 pm (UTC)
*arches an eyebrow in the direction of the speaker*

Another Wright? *looks him up and down* Are you a paranormal investigator as well? I observe that you don't wear a defence attorney's badge, but you also don't look as if you play poker for a living.

I may not have much experience of the paranormal, but I think most people would agree that I have a passing acquaintance with crazy... although they may not say so while I am in the room. *smirks*
Phoenix Wright: Um I don't think so m'kayi_think_wright on February 4th, 2008 01:33 am (UTC)
[Adjusts his tie habitually, perhaps stalling for time, perhaps trying to look busy and professional.]

I'm a paranormal psychiatrist, actually. [Tilts his head to the side, somewhat curiously.] Poker for a living? What world are you from?

Everyone has an acquaintance with crazy, particularly if you happen to have ever known a Larry.
Miles Edgeworth, Professeur de Loi: Tapprofesseurdeloi on February 4th, 2008 01:59 am (UTC)
Apparently, from a world where Wright becoming an attorney was a miracle. As was his ability to understand my sense of humour.

[I haven't talked about Wright for years. Now I can't stop, it seems.]

We prefer to think of Larry as "apecial". *smirks*
Phoenix Wright: Ah I seei_think_wright on February 4th, 2008 02:32 am (UTC)
Well, I can't really say much about my world's Miles' sense of humor. We've not spoken more than four words in the last 15 years.

Ha ha, yeah, Larry's a special something.
Miles Edgeworth, Professeur de Loi: Greyprofesseurdeloi on February 4th, 2008 02:46 am (UTC)
*His attention is caught by the first statement, and he's obviously curious as hell, but trying to hide it*

You don't... work with the Wright in your world?
Phoenix Wright: Aheheheh...woopsi_think_wright on February 4th, 2008 03:03 am (UTC)
I, no, I don't, though I understand we're/they're rivals of sorts in the other worlds. I don't really even know what he does for a living.

But if he's at all like his father, he probably does something similar to me, as far as the paranormal thing goes.

((ooc: I'm going to assume you meant "Edgeworth"~))
Miles Edgeworth, Professeur de Loi: Greyprofesseurdeloi on February 4th, 2008 03:08 am (UTC)
How... interesting. You seem unique in that respect from what I have heard so far.

Can I ask exactly what your work involves?

[My father does the same thing in that world?]

(OOC: crap yes, sorry. It's late and my brain is fried)
Phoenix Wrighti_think_wright on February 4th, 2008 03:21 am (UTC)
Yeah, I get that a lot. I guess I'm just from a different point in the larger plot line (because really, I've noticed a great deal of similarities in everyone's series of events....)

[He places his hands on his hips and suddenly begins speaking in a surprisingly logical, well-schooled and generally intelligent manner.]

My world is full of paranormal and supernatural occurrences, at least compared to what I've heard of everyone else's. However, the great majority of people still seem to have problems coping with the more frightening things, like weres and vamps and particularly malevolent ghosts - I simply help them with the resulting trauma.
Miles Edgeworth, Professeur de Loi: Sidelongprofesseurdeloi on February 4th, 2008 10:46 am (UTC)
Maybe so... I can't tell you if I hope that is true or not. *frowns*

I wish I'd met you earlier - are you any good with nightmares? *it's a joke, but his smile is somewhat bitter*
Phoenix Wright: Ah I seei_think_wright on February 4th, 2008 09:00 pm (UTC)
Yes, actually - nightmares are a very common way of dealing with the repressed trauma often caused by paranormal encounters, though I doubt yours are supernaturally inclined.

Reoccurring or otherwise? [He understands the facetiousness behind Edgeworth's question, but he also hears the underlying honesty. It concerns him - is this nightmare thing a common trait in between all the Miles Edgeworth's?]
Miles Edgeworth, Professeur de Loi: Casualprofesseurdeloi on February 4th, 2008 09:30 pm (UTC)
Very much not supernaturally inclined. I don't...

*He was aboutto express his opinion on the supernatural in general, until he recalls who he's talking to. His smile is full on bitter now*

I should think twenty five years, sleeping and waking, probably counts as recurring.

...

AH! Edgeworth!
Miles Edgeworth, Professeur de Loiprofesseurdeloi on February 4th, 2008 12:15 am (UTC)
*looks at the other man sharply*

And what, exactly, makes you think they are likely to spontaneously fall onto someone out of te blue? Do you have a sudden problem with poltergeists?
Nick Reeve: ...come again? -- by Edgey-munghostshield on February 4th, 2008 12:16 am (UTC)
Um, no, it's just...

...uh, Edgeworth, I have really, really, REALLY bad news.
Miles Edgeworth, Professeur de Loi: Tapprofesseurdeloi on February 4th, 2008 12:43 am (UTC)
"Bad news?" You mean apart from being stranded in a Wright-I-Don't-Know's dressing room with no means of escape and surrounded by reminders of my past that I would rather forget? Apart from *that* bad news? *he's being sarcastic, but does look concerned*
Nick Reeve: ...come again? -- by Edgey-munghostshield on February 4th, 2008 12:52 am (UTC)
...yeah, well tack "big goddamn earthquake coming sometime in the next week" onto that mess and you can see just how much better it all gets.
Miles Edgeworth, Professeur de Loi: Angstprofesseurdeloi on February 4th, 2008 01:02 am (UTC)
*He's feeling the same horrible dread that used to plague him when he lived in LA and the earthquake warnings were reported on the news. He feels faint and nauseous just at the prospect of it, and leans on a nearby table for support*

How... do you know?
Nick Reeveghostshield on February 4th, 2008 01:08 am (UTC)
An older alternate of Ema's appeared, with a device that apparently scans for these things. I caught sight of the warning. If you find her, she can probably confirm this.

I'd offer to take you to the Nexus with me to ride it out, but, um, that'd require you dealing with the Nexus for however long. And not everybody's up to that.
Miles Edgeworth, Professeur de Loi: Angstprofesseurdeloi on February 4th, 2008 01:20 am (UTC)
I see. I don't-

*He's looking round the room and assessing its relative size, then counting the number of adult versions of himself*

Oh, Christ.

*now he reeeeallly feels faint*

Ordinarily, I'd say that I prefer to take my chances with something I don't know if I can deal with over something that I know exactly how I fail to deal with. But you can't take all of us, I presume?

Nick Reeveghostshield on February 4th, 2008 01:22 am (UTC)
Not all at once, certainly. Maybe two or three, tops. I'd have to ask the inventor the specifics.

Ugh, if I'd known about the damn doors sooner...

((ooc: lol could totally provide tons of them but I think that'd sort of defeat the purpose of a plot in the first place. Deus ex machina ftw.))
Miles Edgeworth, Professeur de Loi: Glasses Sadprofesseurdeloi on February 4th, 2008 01:39 am (UTC)
Perhaps I should revise my opinion on the existence of a higher power, because clearly someone has a sick sense of humour.

I really need a drink of water.

(ooc: absolutely - that would be cheating! 'Tis why I am making my Miles be valiant and noble even though he will probably kill me later LOL*
Nick Reeveghostshield on February 4th, 2008 01:43 am (UTC)
*sigh* Maybe we should explore this place a little better. I need to talk to the guy who owns the room to see if it's okay for me to PIN some of the delicate stuff out of here, at least, but after that we may be able to see if there's at least some facilities for food and drink around here. I might bring some tools in too to help secure stuff down.

In the meantime, I could really use some help spreading the news as delicately as possible. If nothing else, we're at least warned in advance.
Miles Edgeworth, Professeur de Loi: Greyprofesseurdeloi on February 4th, 2008 01:55 am (UTC)
I'm afraid I don't know which of your... selves owns this place. He does have some quite disgusting tea and coffee somewhere, although frankly, a bottle of Scotch and a tranquiliser gun might be more useful at this juncture.

I can... try to help with the latter. Once I look less like I'm about to collapse from hysteria myself, that is.
